Clemente Leadership Academy school rules are in your student/school handbook and are expected to be followed. Together the students and I created our classroom rules; which are posted in the classroom.
Correspondence:
Feel free to call me to make an appointment to meet with me before or after school. Many parents have also found it just as convenient to send me an email at [email protected], which I check before leaving school and several times in the evening and on the weekends. I will do my best to respond when I can.
Please also join REMIND! This is a great way for me to communicate classroom announcements quickly to parents and guardians. It also allows you to send me messages in case you need to quickly get in touch with me during the day. I have the ability to check this on my breaks. If there is something urgent, please call the office to get in touch with me.

Homework:
The purpose of homework is to support classroom learning and to develop good study habits. During the first few days of school a homework contract was sent home with each student and was returned signed. A reading homework packet will be sent home each Monday and will be due on Friday. This reading packet should only take about 15 minutes per night. In addition, students will usually have math homework that will be handed out each day. Unfinished class work may be sent home to be completed for homework.
It is extremely important that students complete their homework every night because this will help reinforce what is being taught during school hours. If your child does not understand a part of their homework it is okay for them to skip questions or leave that portion blank. Please just write a note so that I know that your child did attempt the homework. Student agenda books will need to be signed by a parent/guardian EACH night. I will be checking their agenda book each morning. This will be a good way for us to communicate.
Also, students should be spending a significant amount of time reading at home. This is essential and will help them reach the benchmark reading level by the end of the school year. Please let me know if you need any books. I would be more than happy to send some home with the students. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of reading at home!!!!
Uniforms:
This year the school is trying to create a close sense of community. By having the students all wear uniforms, the focus and attention is put on academics and promoting a positive learning environment. Please try to have the students wear their school uniforms as often as possible. You may contact the main office if you would like to purchase a school uniform.
Students who wear their uniforms to school on a daily basis will be able to participate in various activities both in and out of school.
Birthday Celebrations:
Students may celebrate their birthday if they choose to! In order to cause as little interruption to academics, I ask that I am notified a week in advance. Birthdays will be celebrated at 2:30 pm that day.
